Yuri

Yuri is the token completely useless character from Legend of Mystery (complete text) - he's a merchant who joins the party because, ah, his wares got stolen or something. Comes up with a couple bright ideas, then becomes mute due to falling from an airship - sorta like Ward, except nobody actually cares.

In battle

Weapon of choice: Heck, I dunno, what hasn't been taken yet? Clubs or Darts or Boomerangs or whatever, it doesn't do any damage anyway.

Skills: Some stuff that sounds sort of clever but in practicality is completely worthless, like Relm's Sketch skill but worse. A couple skills should just produce failure/error messages.

Personality

Like Gilbert/Edward in FFIV, that is, dreamy, spoony and something of a coward.

Other meanings

Yuri is also the main character of Shadow Hearts and Shadow Hearts: Covenant, and it also refers to hentai depecting two members of the female sex, erm, going at it. Joel is disturbingly fond of the latter.
