I got a Puce Mary tape (plus a Posh Isolation metal pin) delivered to my home while I was away on holidays and today I bought a Predatory Light shirt from Psychic Violence and two Mitochondrion/Sortilegia shirts from Vault of Dried Bones. Also the newest Alda CD is being delivered to my family home in Spain.
I haven't bought any vinyl in ages, not even for my favorite releases of this year (Obsequiae, Misthyrming...). I guess the fact that I don't live in my house anymore where my record collection and my turntable are except for like 4 weeks per year in total and not owning a turntable/stereo setup here in Copenhagen discourages me from my vinyl-hunting habits of olde. Which is funny because for the first time in my life now I have a job and I can actually afford to buy shit ![]() |

I lied about no more purchases.
Caladan Brood - Echoes of Battle 2LP Legitimately thought this was out of print. Best album of 2013 by a fucking mile. I think I got the last copy of this in the store, too, because I don't see it listed now.

Yup, Echoes of Battle is legitimately in my top ten records of all time. I've played it so often that I had to buy a second copy of the vinyl edition. It is quite frankly a perfect record. No matter what mood I am in, it works, and works hard.
Aaron, what is this L'Acephale split you're talking about? |

It might actually be a collaboration instead; I'm not sure. I guess there's a way to buy the digital version from Bandcamp, but I want a physical copy.

Vanum - Realm of Sacrifice LP
Giles Corey - Giles Corey 2LP Really doing a great job with my "no new vinyl purchases" resolution. On the plus side I may be getting a job again soon so that should help offset the expenses.

Metroid Metal - Game of the Year 2CD (they could've put this on one CD because it's under eighty minutes long, but oh well)
Metroid Metal - Other Album CD I'll probably buy that CD-R of his solo versions of this material as well, but later. Still want to buy new Panopticon on vinyl and it's still not up ![]()

I bought Deerhunter's new album, Faded Frontier, on vinyl today. I was walking around our local vinyl, comics, books, jewelry and rocks store today killing time before the lunch I had planned with a friend and realized it had been a few months since I'd acquired new vinyl. Checked out the new releases. Bought it. I feel good about the purchase. The album is good.

Ordered the Emperor box because I am a sucker (the black edition because it’s what the pressing plant recommended, plus it’s black metal, har har har). 800 friggin’ euros counting the shipping (I haven’t completed the bank transfer yet because I haven’t gotten the instructions yet, though). That is it for me for purchases for a few months at least. Luckily I at least have a job again where I’m making better income than I’ve ever made before so I’ll be able to make up the costs in like a month of work.
oh, I had also ordered the Scorn Defeat 3LP set via Discogs about a week ago. At some point I want to collect all those Sigh LP pressings but it’ll be awhile because welp, they’re expensive.

I went all out recently and bought a new PC. My old one goes to my stepson, who's getting a huge upgrade.
Old PC: i5-2500k @ 4.5GHz 12GB 1600MHz DDR3 RAM Asus P8P67-Pro Motherboard NVidia GTX670 2GB Coolermaster 550W PSU Various HDD's, with a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD leading the charge A huge Coolermaster Storm Sniper case Coolermaster 120 air cooler New PC: i7-6700k@4.4GHz Corsair16GB 3200MHz DDR4 RAM Asus Z170i motherboard NVidia 980GTX eVGA 750W PSU 4TB SSHD, 640GB HDD, the same Samsung as before and one of these new NVMe M2 PCI-e SSD's which is insanely fast Corsair Obsidian 250d Corsair H100i GTX watercooling AIO Overall quite happy with it. The watercooler was supposed to fit this case, but there was some smallprint saying the " i " version might not fit some motherboards, which I didn't see, so I have had to ghetto the fans on there. The case and board are Mini-ITX, which I've been after getting a smaller case for some time. The GPU is eating everything I throw at it. Should be set for a few years of gaming with this. |

Turned out not to get that Emperor box after all. Finances weren’t as good as I thought they were. I wound up getting the original Alternative Tentacles vinyl pressings of the entire Dead Kennedys discography instead, plus a bunch of Jello Biafra’s collaborations with other artists and Joanna Newsom’s Ys and Have One on Me on vinyl. I may edit this to contain a complete list of what I picked up later.
As for now, I’ve just ordered: Moonsorrow - Jumalten aika 2LP (clear)+CD Which is the first thing I’ve ordered this year.

A friend of mine and I were at the record store digging through crates for him to use with his sampler in a quest to explore the furthest reaches of the sonic field, and I decided to dig through the CDs to see what they have and I picked up Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star and Black on Both Sides, which are great CDs to keep in the car. Haven't purchased much vinyl recently but in a desperate and emotionally confused spinout I purchased The Man Who Sold the World about a month ago when I saw that same record store capitalizing on Bowie's death by putting all of his records out on display. I'm also pretty sure they marked them all up.

Gorguts - Pleiades’ Dust 12”
Which is probably the last thing I’ll order before the Waldgeflüster / Panopticon split goes up on vinyl, unless something exceptional comes out. (If Caladan Brood or Gallowbraid’s new material unexpectedly becomes available for preorder, I’d probably order that too). I haven’t even listened to the five-minute preview, but… it’s Gorguts. (I’m actually going to try very hard not to listen to the preview ahead of time; I want to experience the whole track at once. I may not succeed at this). Also, a complete list of acquisitions from the holidays (I think): Jello Biafra with D.O.A. - Last Scream of the Missing Neighbors LP Jello Biafra with Nomeansno - The Sky Is Falling and I Want My Mommy LP Jello Biafra and Mojo Nixon - Prairie Home Invasion LP Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine - The Audacity of Hype LP Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine - Enhanced Methods of Questioning 12” Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine - White People and the Damage Done LP Jello Biafra and the New Orleans Raunch and Soul All-Stars - Walk on Jindal’s Splinters LP Dead Kennedys - Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables LP Dead Kennedys - In God We Trust, Inc. 12” Dead Kennedys - Plastic Surgery Disasters LP Dead Kennedys - Frankenchrist LP Dead Kennedys - Bedtime for Democracy LP Dead Kennedys - Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death LP+7” D.O.A. - We Occupy feat. Jello Biafra/Who the Hell Do You Think You Are 7” Joanna Newsom - Ys 2LP Joanna Newsom - Have One on Me 3LP The No W.T.O. Combo - Live from the Battle in Seattle LP
