may the way of the hero lead to the triforce.
I'm playing Oracle of Seasons right now and having the time of my fucking life. The top-down "traditional" Zelda games are my absolute favorite. Can you guys make any recommendations to similar games? I've already knocked out Crystalis and 3D Dot Game Heroes.
I'll happily just play Link's Awakening again after I demolish Oracle of Ages. The Goron dance is bullshit and we all know it.

The Goron dance is the only blemish on an otherwise-perfect game.
I don't have any recommendations for new games but I've just been playing the Zelda Randomizer obsessively over the past several weeks. Moo posted a thread for it already. After my Randomizer obsession dies I'm probably going to go back and replay all the other 2D Zeldas.

The first Alundra is a great Zelda-like clone. So try that if you haven't already. It's for the PS1.
Oracle of Seasons/Ages are both amazing games. I am currently playing Link's Awakening DX. Those GB/C/A Zelda games are top notch. |

Oh yeah, Adam said I should play The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, which is apparently something of a cross between Zelda and a roguelike. So that's probably worth mentioning.

All you need for the Goron Dance is some headphones and rhythm. Shit's hard, yes. I did it on a proper GBC and I felt like it was harder with save states. If you feel like replaying it, just send me the save state, Aaron.
![]() I can't find a torrent for Alundra and I'm sure as hell not dropping $70 for a beat up disc at Super Smash...is this not a desirable genre to play?

PC wise, Evoland is a great nostalgia trip. It's gimmick is that the game evolves through the different forms of RPGs throughout the years. A large portion of the game is traditional Zelda style stuff though.
Ittle Dew is a PC indie title heavily inspired by Zelda. It's super charming, but fairly short. Both are on Steam. The Ys. games are Zelda clones if the focus was on real time combat and traditional RPG elements like levelling and skills. The stories are largely forgettable and dull as mud, but the combat is great. The Zelda series' formula is one that surprisingly hasn't been aped more, honestly. Those are the few that I can think of off the top of my head. |

I can't get into it, mostly just the art style. "Fetus Baby In Poop Dungeon: The Game" really limits my ability to enjoy the game, fun though it may be.
