Post your all-time favourite songs, one at a time.
We had a thread like this on the last incarnation of the board and it was one of the more valid ones we had, so I'm starting it up again. You can refer to that thread for some of my other choices. Comments on other people's choices are strongly encouraged.
I sometimes forget about this band and I inevitably end up regretting it, even though this is the only album of theirs I've ever really loved.

Only pain is intellectual, only evil interesting. This is the treason of the artist: a refusal to admit the banality of evil and the terrible boredom of pain. If you can’t lick ’em, join ’em. If it hurts, repeat it. But to praise despair is to condemn delight, to embrace violence is to lose hold of everything else. We have almost lost hold; we can no longer describe happy man, nor make any celebration of joy.” -Ursula K. And really nothing I've posted was old. I'm 37. There are many more amazing songs I've just not dug into yet. How far back do we want this to go? I can go back at least 50 or so years, here's an example:

And then, fuck every single one of you, there is ROCKET
THERE IS ROCKET NOTHING ELSE BUT ROCKET MY ROCKET IS BIG AND HARD AND WILL DESTROY YOUR WORLD
Literally my favorite song on this sad, little fucked up world. it is the best thing. Kneel before the ROCKET. YEAH. |

We Used to Know is great and all, but you can't have Jethro Tull in a thread like this without one of their epics.
A Passion Play and Baker St. Muse would also have been acceptable.

This song single handedly puts pretty much all of "Viking metal" to shame.
